History

New Life Assembly of God began on August 3rd, 1980 when José and Judy Rivera pioneered the work under the M.A.N.Y program of the New York District of the Assemblies of God.

The first service was held at the Masonic Temple, 710 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush with sixteen (16) people in attendance. They later met in the Old Beverage Center in Schodack, and then in an Episcopal church.

They purchase a twenty five acre piece of land on Hays Road, and broke ground for their new church on May, 22nd, 1983. Services were held in the basement for several years until the upper sanctuary was completed in 1985.

Pastor José Rivera retired in May of 2006. Rev. Steve Pooley pastored from January of 2007 until April of 2013. William and Leah Pier came to pastor in May of 2013.
