Answer

WHAT'S REQUIRED?

Actually, you can't get to heaven by doing any, a compilation of several or even all of the items listed. There's only one thing that needs to be done and Jesus Christ has already done it. What did He do? He died on the cross to pay for our sins so we wouldn't have to. He was buried, but rose from the death. Thus He defeated sin, death and satan, giving us eternal life. The only thing we must do is sincerely "confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead and we will be saved" (Romans 10:9) and nothing else! Once Jesus is in your heart, you'll want to develop a close, personal relationship with Him.

Followers of Christ do most of the items on the list after they become saved, but doing them did not save them. "Faith first, then works." We hope you'll take the time to read the rest of this and see what the Bible (God) says about the things you may have marked on your quiz.

FAITH + NOTHING = SALVATION

EXPLANATION:

#1 - It is impossible to get to heaven this way. The Bible (God) says, ". . . no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands." (Romans 3:20) "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." (Romans 3:28)

#2, , or 4 - These things could never save you ". . . not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us." (Titus 3:5) As far as our salvation is concerned, God considers our righteous acts like "filthy rags." (Isaiah 64:6)

#5, 6 or 7 - Good works cannot save anyone. "The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing." (John 6:63a) "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works . . . " (Ephesians 2:8-9)

#8 or 9 - We cannot be saved by works, regardless of how good or well-intended. God saves us by His grace/mercy. The Bible says: ". . . we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus." (Acts 15:11) "It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!" (Ephesians 2:5b) and "So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it." (Romans 9:16)

#10 or 11 - Water vaptism and communion are for those already saved. Romans 4:5 says" ". . . people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners."

"There is a way that seems right to man,

but in the end it leads to death."

(Proverbs 14:12)

"He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." (I John 5:12-13) NKJV

WE ARE ALL SINNERS

God created us to have a relationship with Him. (Colossians 1:16b) But our sins have separated us from God (Isaiah 59:) God's standard is perfection (I Peter 1:16) and nothing evil will be allowed to enter heaven. (Revelation 21:27) The Bible warns us, "the wages of sin is death" (hell), Romans 6:23 which is the ultimate separation from God. No effort on our part can bridge the separation we've created. (John 6:63)

The Good News for us is that we don't have to do anything because what needs to be done has already been done by Jesus Christ! God demonstrated how much He loves us by having Jesus die on the cross to pay our sin debt so we wouldn't have to. (Romans 5:8, I Peter 2:24) By dying on the cross for us, Christ reconciled the broken relationship created by our sinning. (Colossians 1:20-22) All we need to do is to believe, have faith and put our trust in Jesus Christ and what He did for us. (John 6:29) Once we sincerely put our trust in Christ, God declares us righteous in His sight and ready to enter God's Kingdom (Romans 3:24)

"NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION"

(2 Corinthians 6:2b)

We are here today to help people who are serious about their eternal destination. Bible prophecy indicates that time on this earth, as we know it, is nearing its end. All prophecy (without exception), has proven true so far and there's no reason to believe God's endtime prophecy will be any different.

If you aren't "saved" yet (from going to hell), don't wait any longer. This is the most important and longest-lasting decision you'll ever make. Saying a prayer doesn't save you, only faith in Christ does. Admit to God that you're a sinner and that your sins have separated you from Him. Tell God that you are unable to save yourself and that you need Christ's help. Tell God that you believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried and that He rose from the dead. Accept His free gift of salvation and tell Him you want to turn your life around (repent), no longer living for yourself but for Christ. Ask God to open your heart to Jesus. He won't reject anyone who sincerely comes to Him.

If you're a new believer, welcome to God's family. Look for a Bible-driven church to attend and ask the pastor for an experienced mentor to help you grow in the faith. Find other believers for fellowship, prayer and Bible study.

WELCOME TO GOD'S FAMILY!
